Sermon Summary - The Church is important. Jesus teaches us that we don’t have to live in regard to our own authority. We are given by Jesus a community to belong to. We don’t just belong to the church passively. To each person a gift is given, a gift of grace. The holy spirit has uniquely custom fit spiritual gifts for every single person that is in Christ.

Memory Verse - As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. - 1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV)
Discussion Questions:
- Read through Ephesians 4:1-16. We recommend using the questions from the DNA Meeting Guide to help guide your study of this text. The guide also gives your DNA group a simple structure to work through the passage and discuss together.
- Getting to the Heart - What spoke to you the most from this passage/sermon? What is God’s design for the Church? Describe your struggle with Church. Where does your understanding of who you are come from? What is keeping you from going all in with the Church?
- Living the Way of Jesus - What does it look like for you to align your life to Jesus’ vision/plan for his church? Have you discovered your gifts or found your role? Is there a Pastor or Elder that you could talk to about this or someone from your DNA or Missional Community?
